Back at Work in One Week: A Story of Urine Leakage and a Cup of Herbal Tea

When hospital treatment had not helped, a worried father-in-law came to our clinic with one question: "Do you have anything?"
A Visitor With a Heavy Heart
One afternoon a man I know walked into our clinic in Kitumbini, Dar es Salaam. He did not sit down to chat. He was desperate.
His son-in-law, whom we will call Daniel (not his real name), could not stop urine from leaking. The problem was so severe that Daniel spent more than two weeks in one of the best-known hospitals in the country. He came home, but the leaking did not stop.

Daniel worked at a foreign embassy in Dar es Salaam. It was a good job, and the family was afraid he would lose it. How do you sit in meetings, or serve visitors, when you cannot trust your own bladder?
"Is there anything that can help him?" the visitor asked.
What We Gave Him
I told him that Haiiba Timam Tea might help. It is the herbal tea we make at Herbal Impact from edible plants only.
From what the visitor described, I suspected the root cause was in the nervous system, the nerves that tell the bladder when to hold and when to let go. In our experience, Haiiba Timam Tea is very good for the nervous system. That is why I believed it could help Daniel. Over the years, many of our patients with urine leakage have told us that their bladder control came back after about three weeks of drinking it.
I explained how to prepare it, and he left with a three-week supply for Daniel.
One Week Later
Within one week, the visitor was back at our door. This time he was smiling.
Daniel was well again. The leaking had stopped, and he was back at his job at the embassy.

Stories like this are the reason our patients call Haiiba Timam Tea "Chai ya Ajabu", the Wonder Tea.
Urine Leakage Is More Common Than People Admit
Urinary incontinence means losing control of your bladder, so urine leaks when you do not want it to. It affects men and women of all ages. Many people hide it because they feel ashamed, and that silence makes life harder.
Common types include:
- Stress incontinence: urine leaks when you cough, laugh, lift or run.
- Urge incontinence: a sudden, strong need to pass urine, and you cannot reach the toilet in time.
- Overflow incontinence: the bladder does not empty fully, so urine dribbles out. In men this is often linked to the prostate.

Daniel's story is one patient's experience, not a clinical trial. Every body is different, and results vary.
- See a doctor first to find the cause of the leaking.
- Go to a hospital the same day if you have blood in your urine, pain or fever, or you cannot pass urine at all.
- Keep taking any medicine your doctor prescribed, and tell your doctor you are drinking the tea.
How to Prepare Haiiba Timam Tea
- Use a small thermos flask that holds 2–3 cups.
- Put one tablespoon of the tea into the flask.
- Boil 3 cups of water, pour it in and close the lid tightly.
- Leave it to steep for 30 minutes.
- Drink all of it within 4 hours.
Drink it twice a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, and in the evening before or after a meal. One 200 g packet lasts 7 days, so a three-week course needs 3 packets.
